Well it is a street, so why shouldn't it be classed as a street capture? I had this discussion with my husband whilst I was trying to get my street capture. His question was "why do you need to have people in the shot?" We came to the conclusion that a street devoid of any activity would still be 'a street photo'!
@vickisfotos Thank you Vicki! Sometimes there are people walking dogs, kids playing, teens on ATV's (that really aren't supposed to be riding on our streets) and cars- but not on this day when I need something like that to make the shot interesting! LOL @salza Thanks Sally! I guess if you want to be literal about it, then a picture of a street is truly an example of street photography. hehehe @windridge Thank you Susan! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! Not as great as a street shot in London! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! @digitalrn Thank you Rick for pointing out the silver lining! @lilminimonka Thank you Brianna! @edie Thank you Edie! @maggiemae Thank you Maggie- it's all in the way the camera is pointed. My house is to my left, a neighbor's house is right next to that and then two more after his; http://365project.org/olivetreeann/365/2012-06-05
another neighbor is to our left http://365project.org/olivetreeann/365/2012-03-03
and one is across the street but I don't have a picture of it.
