After the Rain

I thought I'd do a week of platitudes from the word puzzles I do every now and then.

Had a different one in mind for today, but when I found this guy drying off after the rain we had today, I thought of this puzzle:

We hope that when the insects take over the world, they will remember with gratitude how we took them along on all our picnics.

It was attributed to Bill Vaughan.

Unfortunately I could not figure out what his official name is.

@eryck Thank you Eryck! I was really intrigued by the spelling of your name. We have a son we named Erick. It is quite often misspelled by folks who don't know him. (Erik or Eric are more common here with Erich following behind. But it is rarely spelled Erick.)
