Today is Father's Day in the United States. I miss my Dad quite a bit but I'm grateful for the fact that I have so many wonderful pictures of him throughout his life. This shot was taken some time in the late 30's as Dad appears to be in his teens. My uncle identified one of the other fellows as Bill Stone (but I don't remember which one!). Dad is in the back seat on the right.
I had a little trouble uploading to Ribbet today. I'm not sure why, so I'm also grateful that my ACE account allows me to jump over to Picmonkey and edit the picture to my liking!
Happy Father's Day to all my 365 friends who are dads!
What a great photo, Ann. It's great you have pictures of your dad back in the day. I never had a good relationship with my parents (or my family for that matter), so you are quite blessed. This is a fantastic tribute to your dad on Father's Day.
Love the pov that includes that wonderful vintage car and very handsome looking boys in it. I lost my Dad at 64 while I was in my 30's, but we had a difficult relationship as he was a manic depressive.
Thank you Maggie, Daisy, Brian, Rick, Bev, Nicole, Alia, Jackie, Dione, and Debs! I do love the old cars and although I don't know the other two gentlemen, it's fun to see Dad there. He doesn't look like he could drive it just yet, but I have a feeling he wanted to!
@neatz I understand- my mom died at 52 (when I was in my 30's) and I still miss her too. Dad passed away two years ago now. @cimes1 Thanks Carole- time to start looking for it- sounds like it's a good one! @summerfield Thanks Vikki! Yes- he was!
@cimes1 So sorry to hear that! I had a shot of my dad- probably from his high school days- a profile that was the spitting image of my younger son. And to this day I don't know what happened to it.
@vesna0210 Thank you Vesna! @gratefulness Thank you Sandi. He was missed (2 years since his passing) but my sons did call their dad so we have a lot to enjoy in the here and now too.
