@mzzhope Thank you Hope and thank you so much for the fav!
@wenbow Thank you Wendy and thanks for the fav!
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! Believe it or not, this one was not afraid of me at all- even when I tossed a pine cone at her as she attempted to nibble on one of my plants!
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole. They loose their magic very quickly when they strip your garden down to stubs.
@susale Thank you Suse!
@ziggy77 Thank ypu Jo! And thank you very much for the fav!!
@thistle Thank you Joyce!
@alia_801 Thank you Alia!

@bill_fe Thanks Bill!
@salza Thank you Sally! I do love the zoom on this new camera!
@steveh Thank you Steve and thank you so much for the fav!
@daisymiller Thank you Daisy! It happened sort of by accident. I was zooming in to do a close up and went a little too close, but I liked it so I took the shot.
@anazad511 Thank you Ana and thank you for the fav! They ravaged my gardens last week (partly my fault as I forgot to spray the deer repellent on in the beginning of August!) but actually as we're heading in to Fall, it helped get the gardens ready for winter in the end. It doesn't look pretty right now, but with a little trimming it will be ok.
@gratefulness Thank you Sandi!

Bev
Oh wow. What a great shot, Ann. This puts mine to shame. Fav.
September 7th, 2014
@prttblues Thanks Bev! And thanks for the fav too! I lucked out on this one. They are so tame and they were just a few feet away from the deck so the zoom put me right on top of them. You'd get a shot like this too if you were here- but I think they are a little more afraid of humans in VT. because they have more woods to live in. Here we're all right on top of each other in many ways. Plus there are a lot of stupid people who feed them so they get used to humans.
September 7th, 2014
Great shot.
September 7th, 2014
Oh how beautiful!! Look at those eyes!! How could anyone kill them? Think I'd have to starve first. How lucky you could get this close!! Love those ears too!! Better to hear you with my dear!! Big Fav!
September 7th, 2014
@digitalrn Thanks Rick!
@cashew Thanks Kathy! They are in one breath beautiful and in another a pain in the neck! They look wonderful in the woods, but when they eat your garden down to stubs, it's very easy to wish you'd never see another! Thanks so much for the fav!!!
September 7th, 2014
I've never ever seen such a close-up! You should totally sell this photo. So gorgeous!
September 7th, 2014
@olivetreeann We stopped the deer coming in our garden by putting 2 big dogs in nicely placed positions around the garden!! They have nice big fenced in areas so they can run to different positions and bark at them. Haven't had a deer since and we tried everything. I know we felt a lot of times about eating venison!!! LOL

September 7th, 2014
A lovely close up. love your composition here. I would welcome friends like these to my garden. just hope they don't munch on everything in sight.
September 8th, 2014
Beautiful animals! They are not fat and your garden means food for them.
September 8th, 2014
Great close up shot!
September 8th, 2014
@wordsmith Thank you Teresa! They were so close to me that when I zoomed the camera went really close! But I decided I liked it and kept the shot.
@cashew The neighbors have dogs and we are right next to each other, but around here, the deer are so used to people and pets, they don't even flinch. They will actually stand by the road and wave as you drive by. I use a product called "Deer Out" and it works really well.
@mhatch Thank you Mark!
@redy4et Thank you Elizabeth!
@tjchapa Thank you Julie! And thank you so much for the fav!
@soccergirl1112 Thank you Soccer Girl!
@skstein Thank you Sandy!
@bruni Thank you Bruni! If you don't prevent it in one way shape or form, they eat EVERYTHING!!! Right down to the ground. They are pests! Pretty- but pests!
@vesna0210 Thank you Vesna! They have plenty to eat in the woods. Gardens are like candy for them.
@birdy Thank you Lois!

How wonderful that you have these visitors---and they are comfortable enough for portraits!. Just beautiful.
September 12th, 2014
@dianne365 Thanks Dianne! They are a mixed blessing/curse. Great to photograph, but not so great when they eat our garden plants!
September 12th, 2014
great framing, Ann.I may need to look at this camera...of course you are the eye behind the lens and your eye is incomparable.
September 13th, 2014
@fullcircle Thank you Cindy! You are so nice to say that. I can highly recommend this camera. I LOVE it!! It has given so much more freedom in what I can take and how good it will come out. The zoom is fantastic (I can take moon shots now!!). It's so good you'd be able to take shore line shots from quite a distance. When I was researching it there was a Canon website that showed you a preview of what it can do. I think if you google the name of the camera it will come up. Canon Powershot SX50HS
