Sally's Truffles a la Lazy Ann

A while back Sally posted a picture of some truffles she had made. They sounded really good and she was kind enough to send me the recipe! Well, as you can see, I altered the recipe a little! I confess I am a very lazy cook and all the steps of mixing and rolling and dipping and etc, etc! had me thinking, "There's got to be a shorter way to do this!" Add into the mix that our measuring systems are different and I had to convert the amounts (did I mention that I am terrible at math?!), and the deal was sealed- a simpler version is what I needed! So instead of truffles, I made the recipe brittle style. And it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I'd make them again, with a few adjustments for better blending, but since very little of it came home with me from the Photo Club holiday party tonight, I'd say they were a hit!

Here's Sally's version:

It obviously tasted very good, no-one would have been any the wiser

They do look rather good. What a cool idea to make it flat and spread the chocolate over the top! I bet it was a lot quicker than rolling balls out and dipping them in chocolate. Maybe I will try your version next time!

Hee hee! Once someone told me to do chocolate chip cookies that way and I spent what seemed like an hour trying to get the dough to spread out in the pan. I kept thinking. The cookies would already be done now. Now I know how, but instructions for that aspect shoudl have been included...

@nicolecampbell They do not hold a candle to a Nicole Campbell creation! But they were edible!
@salza Thank you Sally! If I was to do it again, I think I would use less chocolate and do more of a drizzle effect. But no one turned them down!
@francoise Thank you Francoise! I am such a lazy cook. At least now I am. When my sons were young I used to bake all the time!
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@nicoleterheide Thank you Nicole!
@daisymiller Thank you Daisy!

I like that you have the courage to adapt a recipe. Great shot.

@joansmor Thank you Joan! I have used that in the past!
