Rosie and Pip lent a hoof with today's word. They are fascinated by this stone which sits on Miss Ann's shelf. What is so special about this stone? Well, it came from the Valley of Elah in Israel- the place where David met Goliath in his famous showdown with the "giant". This stone came from the same riverbed where David would have gotten his stone and it is the same size as one which could be used in a slingshot.

@ceilidh I can tell you this (if I'm reading your wondering correctly), modern day shepherd boys have been clocked throwing a stone from a slingshot at up to 90 mph. What do you think would happen if you got hit in the forehead by a stone the size of a hand ball hitting you at 90 mph? While David was a skilled shepherd, he also had the Lord on his side. Simply put, Goliath was a goner!
