The Last Geranium Bloom by olivetreeann

The Last Geranium Bloom

So I've decided it's time for me to learn more about my camera and my lenses. I've got some books to read and hopefully time to play and experiment with pictures to see if I understand what I'm reading. This week, it's the macro lens. I didn't get to do any reading today- but hopefully tomorrow I'll have some time. Thankfully I've already used this lens quite a bit. So here we go, day one of macro week.
what a beautiful red

You have caught the red colour so well - sometimes it goes purple or a different colour in different lights!

I started reading through my camera manual today and am trying to wrap my brain around the differences between AV, TV, and P. I don't use P much and usually shoot AV, but learning that the TV setting was good for motion shots was the lesson learned today. I know I'll have to go back and review this info- as I don't usually remember it well unless I put it into practice. I don't think motion and macro will fit well together but it will be fun to experiment with that setting in the future.

I've only really used Tv for taking pics during plays and dance shows, where there are low-ish light levels. Not really sure about any of the others very much!

@alia_801 Thanks Alia- I'm going to give it a try when we visit the grands at the end of the month.

@cjphoto Thank you Chris! Overcast days really work to the advantage of color sometimes.
