Plowing

Amish farmer carrying on the tradition...

I had to take this from the back seat of a car in which I was sitting too low. I tried to give it an effect to make it more passable, but the picture in my mind will always be better than this one.
still a great shot into the life of simplwe people. This is the third shot of an Amish farmer in the last two days on my feed

Looks like he's got a lot to do to plant a field for spring.

Great capture. It looks like he is getting a late start on that field.

Seems to be a lot of horses for the plough but many horses make light work I suppose.

Neat shot!

This is not exactly on subject, but I have a book I just love called Amish Grace, about forgiving. I have not seen the movie. Every time I see a photo like this, I think of that book and the lessons it taught me.

@grammyn @randystreat @littleconnie @robz @henrir @wendyfrost @pyrrhula @eudora

Thank you Katy, Kathy, Connie, Rob, Henri, Wendy, Ferry and Diane!
And thank you so much for the fav Ferry!

@henrir With all the rain, snow and cold temperatures we had throughout March it was probably impossible to break up the soil until now.

@wendyfrost We've had such a cold and wet March the ground is probably pretty tough so the extra horse-power is necessary.

@eudora That brings to mind the incident which occurred about 5 or 6 years ago. A man took a little Amish schoolhouse captive and eventually killed the children, then himself. It was horrible, but the people exhibited such deep faith and forgiveness. It was a very powerful testimony.
