Today we learned that cigarette butts are heavier than whole cigarettes. That's why so many people leave them on the ground instead of throwing them out.
@mandygravil Thanks Mandy! Just to be sure- we were being rather tongue in cheek, perhaps even sarcastic since appears that most litter- whether it's a discarded candy wrapper, hot beverage cup or a can, is heavier once used and cannot be carried to a garbage can due to that excessive weight! Oh, there I go again!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! The paper might, but the plastic filters don't.
Thank you Lou Ann, Katy, Henri, Brian, Marilyn, Kathy, Casablanca and Ferry! I appreciate the comments and cheering. Back in the 1990's our then surgeon general C. Everett Koop came out with a very unpopular but truthful study on cigarette smoking which proved it was not only a bad habit with far-reaching health hazards, it was the number 1 addictive drug on the market- above many of those anti-depressants and other things out there at the time. No one wanted to believe him. But having seen what some people have to go through to quit, I'd have to agree with him. Anyway- I can't stand the smell of them! So thanks for listening while I stand on my soapbox and preach! And thanks also for all your views and comments!
@olivetreeann We are with you - there is a road around us and they have picked up 436 bags of litter recently. People just throw it out of their car windows.
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! The paper might, but the plastic filters don't.
