One thing that I am rediscovering as I continue with this contemplative method of photography is the longer I look at a scene the more I see the minute details that normally get missed. I had gone up the road to my favorite barn on a beautiful fall day last month and after taking the "big picture" stopped to look at it again. I noticed a dandelion seed head on the ground and pulled out my macro lens thinking I'd take a picture of it's little "ballerinas" but lo and behold! One glance through the lens revealed someone hiding in the seeds!
That bug reminds me of one that's everywhere in France called a gendarme (like military police). I was so fixed on the puffy pillow of the head that I didn't see the bug at first! Great spot
Thank you so much for all the comments and favs! I was recently asked what my favorite piece of photo equipment was and I said my macro lens! This picture illustrates why!
