Shaggy Bark

Here's another one Babs will like. What a cool trunk- it really did look and feel papery. The tree comes from western China and it seems to be doing ok at Highland Park in Rochester, NY. It was rather large and provided us with some beautiful shade!

@onewing Yes- I thought of your shaggy bark pictures when I saw it and thought it may have come from your neck of the woods, but the plaque identified it as coming from China which made sense since their climate is much cooler and Rochester definitely gets COLD in the winter!
