John Piper was a multi-talented artist who liked to work in several genres. Some of his still life paintings bear a resemblance to those of the Post-Impressionist period work of Cezanne. Other paintings take a collage-like approach in the Modern Art style and appeared as illustrations in magazines and trade publications. Most of the collages have a very linear composition, with a particular vertical orientation. I decided to mimic their use of texture and color but mix up the orientation a bit in this experiment.

@prttblues Thanks Bev- I wasn't really familiar with him either. I googled his name and looked through lots of his pictures before I chose two to aim for. This is not exactly what I was going for, and I might still try it in iPiccy before Sunday, but if not, it's close enough.
@cimes1 Thanks Carole! I wanted to give this another go, but I'm not sure if I'll have time. Unexpected funeral to attend tomorrow. And Sunday AM we're at church- so we'll see...
