The Tannersville Cranberry bog is an intriguing place. While the Black Spruce and Tamarack trees have found a way to weave their roots among the Spagnum Moss and some grasses have found a way to thrive above the peat, one must take care not to step off the floating walkway. People have been known to sink into the bog waist-deep before being pulled out! I loved the way these leaves looked as if they were inviting us to step up closer for a shot, and at the same time seemed to be warning us not to! Behind them is an area the trustees recently cleared to allow some of the native plants to take better hold in the bog. You can see some of the grasses in the bokeh- proof that their efforts paid off.
This photo was taken with a lens one of the other members let me borrow for a while. Wow! I was no where near these leaves and it looks like I was much closer. I could definitely be spoiled with a lens like that!
And thank you Chris, Francoise, Suse, Katy and Sally for stopping by to give it a view!
@francoise You would love it Francoise- lots of fungi and cool things like cranberries and pitcher plants growing right by the boardwalk so you are safe to take photos of them!
