Album Cover Challenge 56

I should have been dusting and getting some things organized for the upcoming week today, but it was just too much fun playing with the processing on this one!

Artist: African Crake
The African Crake is a bird in the rail family that breeds in most of Sub-Saharan Africa. It is brown-streaked on its upper parts, bluish gray underneath, has black and white barring on the flanks and belly, with a red bill, red eyes and white facial streaks. It's call is a rapid series of grating "krrrrr" notes.

Album title from a quote of Aristotle's:
Hope is a waking dream.

I could not tell you how I accomplished this look if I tried! But the gist of it is there are two pictures, both processed separately, then merged with text added. The one shot had an effect applied to it that made it look like a cluster of straw. The other (a face from a sculpture at the NJ Garden of Sculpture) was stretched so that it could fit the square format. I played with the hue on each separate picture to get the colors you see here. The text for the album title was at first a pink/lilac color but I liked the colors that came up when I inverted it. Sorry- I don't remember the name of the effect on the first shot but I can assure it looks NOTHING like the original! The two photos worked extremely well together!
Amazing processing job, and interesting narrative about the bird.

@jennywren Thanks Jen! It's a fun challenge as you never really know what you're going to end up with until the Wikipedia page comes up on the screen. Sometimes the combos are really weird! But this one made sense.
