Great photo of this majestic bird. I noticed it has been banded and is on some sort of perch. Must be a trained hawk. Never the less, nice shot.

@milaniet @lynnz @skipt07 @Dawn @lyndamcg @onewing @joansmor @louannwarren @pej @haskar @henrir @grammyn @wendyfrost

Thank you Milanie, Lynn, Skip, Dawn, Lynda, Babs, Joan, Lou Ann, Paul, Haskar, Henri, Katy, and Wendy! Thanks so much for the favs- I'm glad you are all enjoying the pictures of these amazing birds. To be able to be this close and take these shots was a real treat!

@pej Yes, Paul, she is tethered and banded. She was "in residence" at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center in Summit Hill Pa. (just outside of Lehighton). Like most of her fellow residents, she was hit by a car and because of her injuries can not fully take care of herself in the wild. So now she helps to educate the public at the center. All the birds featured in my project this week were taken at the center.

@randystreat Thanks Kathy! It's very distinct too. When they're soaring in the sky and the sun is above, it's very red looking from down below.

@kjarn Thank you Kathy! They are- and quite fierce too when in the wild.
