Another view of Schoonover Barn. It's disappointing to see that someone felt compelled to paint graffiti on this side of the barn. Really?! You had no better thing to do with your life than deface public property?
Warning- massive upload. You do not need to comment on every picture!
I suspect it's a message that the person who created the graffiti feels excluded and this is their way of trying to include themselves, however cackhanded and irritating. On one of the walks I take the motorways have been built with tunnels to keep the footpath access. One of those tunnels, some distance from any housing, has the most amazing graffiti, which I like. It's a hideous concrete tunnel under a motorway between footpaths across fields.
@milaniet Same here- there are others places where it could have been better served. Sometimes it can be truly artistic. This was not. Thanks Milanie!
@shannejw That is the kind of place I don't mind it, especially if it's a mural or some kind of artwork- a place for talent to be displayed on purpose. This is just an eye-sore. It's parkland and historical. Since it's a name of some sort the graffiti is obviously territorial. Really? Your gang runs a national park and you had to write your name all over a barn that had been in someone's family for 4 generations before a failed government program kicked them out? No, I don't buy that it's a way someone had to make themselves feel included the world. Not in this location. Oh well, enough of my soap box tirade! Thanks for your thoughts!
