Antlers by olivetreeann

Antlers

Another display turned into art from the Schisler Museum.
So beautiful I could totally see this on the wall of someone's lodge!

This would be perfect on the wood paneled wall in a man's smoking room or hunting lodge.

You wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of these antlers would you. Sad to think it isn't alive anymore though.

Thank you Katy, Kathy, Harry, Shanne, Babs, Daisy and Ferry!

@onewing I have mixed feelings about these. First I know so many here in Pennsylvania and in some of our more northern states who hunt them more for food than a trophy. But if the animal is in good shape they will mount them or let someone else do it. If the primary reason to hunt is for food, I don't mind it. If it's only to get "the rack", that to me is senseless. On the other hand we are overrun here with them. Since we are in a more populated area they are not hunted as frequently and they flourish. Our problem with their numbers is a lot like the probably you have with bunnies and kangaroos (if I'm reading that correctly on a few people's posts). So in a way, thinning out the population CAN BE good wildlife management. One thing for sure- when there's too many of them they destroy what little garden I have. I'm not sure where the museum got this fellow or the others that were hanging on the wall but I imagine that if they were donated they probably fell into the second category which is sad. I didn't pay attention to who donated the display- may have to play detective if I ever get back there again.
