Autumn's Paintbrush

It's been a while since I photographed this barn, but I knew Joan would really enjoy how large it is. It now sits inside the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area but initially it was family owned and operated and probably quite successful if the size is any indication. Sadly the land was taken away from this and many other families when the government proposed a massive dam to form a recreational area for boating, water skiing and other activities in the late 1950's. As "good" as it sounded, it was an awful idea. The project would have completely destroyed the area and environmental groups roused enough opposition to stop the plan from going through. Unfortunately it was too late for the farms and their owners. But at least the area remains in its natural state now. I decided to play with the colors and turn this into a painting.
Wonderful processing, pic!

It is heart warming to know that there was environmental action back in the day and that there were positive results. This is a most stellar edit and it truly is amazing on black. Fav
