This December word seemed to lend itself to the archives of my childhood, however I'm not in this picture! For a while my father enjoyed putting a toy train around the base of the Christmas tree. I don't remember when he stopped but apparently it wasn't the year this shot was taken since my sister (in the back) and my friend Leslie (in front) are having fun watching it circle around and around. I have lots of fond memories of Christmas in this house and at this time of year I revisit a lot of them.
Love this! Great memories. One of the great searches of our kids' childhoods was trying to find my husband's old train set in his parents' attic. We never found it and assumed Granddad gave it away.

@kjarn Thank you Kathy! I think there are a lot of people who still do that- we have a friend who does. For some reason (maybe curious little girls who couldn't stop playing with them???!) my dad stopped putting up ours.
