Today was a "stay at home, don't go anywhere, and take it easy" day. I didn't even feel like walking around the yard to find a shot- so I pulled up this picture from traveling about the other day and just messed around with pre-set effects in my photo processing program until I got something I liked. The building in this picture was part of a well-known resort here in the Poconos. It had closed down many years ago and was still standing until 2 years ago when a fire destroyed it. Many think it was begun by an arsonist for insurance purposes. Until it burned down, it was a destination for photographers who liked to sneak into the abandoned buildings and photograph things as they were left. If you're interested, here's a video of what it used to look like in its hey-day and what it looked like before the arsonists finished it off.
I like the image and I love the background info, The opening of that video is a real blast from the past. We were married in the early 70’s and I remember the Poconos as a ‘dream honeymoon” destination. We, being short of funds, had to settle for a closer to home, and less expensive, destination but those old ads brought back the feeling of that period and what passed as glamour back in those days.Sic transit gloria mundi.
I love What you have done with this one and a definite FAV
