I saw this fellow on the on the side of Owl's Head Lighthouse. I'm actually not sure if it's the White Tussock Moth or another variety because I can't find any image to match the shape and color of his head. But it appears he's found it a pleasant and safe place to stop for awhile before his migratory path continues.
@randystreat I'm pretty sure it's a Tussock Moth- but this one has a brown/black head unlike the kind I'm familiar with. The wings are exactly the same, and so is the shape of the head. It's just the color that's different. Maybe it's due to the time of year or the difference between Maine and Pennsylvania.
