Fishing in the Rain by onewing

Fishing in the Rain

I have got a busy day today and the weather has turned rather nasty. After sunshine and hot weather, the last few days, today it is pouring with rain.

On my way home from grocery shopping this morning I stopped at the foreshore and spotted this chap setting up for a day of fishing in the rain. He must be keen. I hope he was successful.

As you can see, I didn't get out of the car and took this shot through the windscreen.
Fabulous shot and great pop of colour.

Funny the we too are having most unusual weather for this time of the year.

Great red coat. Wet like that here too. We are at the entrance tonight. Too wet for photos😩

He's keen. Taking the image through the rain splattered windscreen gives it the exact feel of being in the rain. Well done. Fav

Lovely rainy capture - I was told fish bite more when it’s raining. Don’t know if that’s true or not

The raindrops add a fabulous effect.

Super raindrops and I love the pop of colour even on the wettest of days

I like the pop of his orange coat. We had an enormous amount of rain this afternoon/evening - 3.5” in the rain gauge in 2 hours

Didn't it just bucket down? This portrays it so well. Perhaps he's out doing a type of 'grocery' shopping too??

Lovely shot and scene. I would not do that even if I am promised a big catch. But then I have never liked fishing because I don't have the patience for it.

That's one dedicated fisherman! I like how his windbreaker stands out against the gray day. I'd stay in the car too!

This is very nice with the spot of red and the rain drops on the windshield. It would actually be a perfect shot for Flash of Red February which is upon us.

All fisher guys I know are mad keen and always optimistic. A bit like photographers. Great shot.

@ludwigsdiana @koalagardens @edorreandresen @loweygrace @boxplayer @jamibann @dide @happysnaps @beryl @sangwann @pdulis @anniesue @merrelyn @corinnec @pamalama @susiemc @carolmw @carole_sandford @haskar @joemuli @helenhall @granagringa @busylady @randystreat @olivetreeann @shutterbug49 @johnfalconer Thanks. I do hope he managed to catch some fish. It was so wet but it wasn't cold, must have been around 28 degrees c so he must have been roasting in his waterproof jacket.

@pusspup Pity it was too wet at The Entrance for photos.

@kjarn @kartia Crikey Kathy you did have a lot of rain. I think we missed most of it. Saw on the weather radar that to the south of us and the north of us had torrential downpours but our little bit in the middle it seemed to be not so heavy.

3.5 inches on your rain gauge is about 88 mm I think. Our rain gauge said we only had about 18 mm, so we got off lightly.

January 31st, 2023
Yes, 88mm. I honestly don't think I've ever seen so much rain in such a short time.
January 31st, 2023
@kjarn I'll get David to start building the ark. We did have huge amounts of rain on occasion last year so he has got plenty of wood just in case. ha ha
