Afro Moses by onewing

Afro Moses

I am posting my Friday people photo a bit earlier than I normally do because I had a medical appointment this morning and now we are going to put the new plants which we bought yesterday, in the garden. I also got a rusty old wheelbarrow from the dump shop and I am going to put flowers in that too.

This photo is of Afro Moses who was playing at the multicultural festival along with his band O'Jah. The chap in last weeks people shot was a member of the band.
Cool image. I am especially intrigued by the instrument he is playing!

I have always wanted to be the wheelbarrow/plant thing but just never found one,you will need to post a photo of the finished results. Love this guy's outfit.

Really interesting character shot Babs

Quite a colorful character!!! Great capture of him. Hope your medical condition is not serious. Don't want to see any "tendrils" coming out of your head...hahahahah!!

Another great person shot Babs. I hope all went well with the medical appointment and I look forward to see your shots of the planted wheelbarrow when it blooms.

Lovely colourful shot, Babs. I can almost hear him sing...

@sbolden Thanks Scott. I believe that he does play several traditional Ghanaian instruments and I think this may be one of them. Not sure what it is called though. Perhaps someone on 365 will know.

@joluise Thanks Jo.The green, red and yellow is the flag of Ghana. The wheelbarrow I bought is very rusted and old. I think it was used in a mine.

@estherhelen Thanks Esther.

@eyesmile I could perhaps do with tendrils they may support my neck. Other than fusion I am not sure what they can do for my neck. I have cervical spondylosis and severe disc space narrowing and sometimes get pinched nerves which is pretty painful. They have to keep an eye on it in case the blood supply to my brain stops. That could be an advantage eh!!! Just need a neck transplant ,that should do the trick.

@derekvickers Thanks Derek. They just have to keep an eye on my neck because of pinched nerves. I will take a photo of the wheelbarrow once it is in use. The wheelbarrow is a bit like my neck though, a bit clapped out!!! ha ha.

Nice shot Babs, have a good day :)

You inspire me to try more people shots. This is good. I tend to stay in my comfort zones too much with macro shots etc.

Your people photos are always amazing Babs. Look forward to this years festival, and see what you come up with.

Hope all is well with you Babs. Don't want to pry but prayers are with you. Love "Moses"!

Nice capture! Love his hair!

@yaorenliu Thanks.
@tryingforsighs Thanks. I crropped it in to just show Moses because the band were playing in the street and the rest of the picture looked a bit messy. I was pleased with the result.
@iwatts Thanks Ian. Back to the gardening again today.

@streats Thanks Ian. Another day of gardening. Bought loads of plants and have to get them in soon as it is so dry here at the moment. I have a feeling that we will get a lot of bush fires this summer.

@iwatts PS Ian. Meant to say good luck with the people shots. Most people I ask if I can take their photo, but sometimes that isn't possible. I find that if I say "You look fantastic can I take your photo" or something along those lines, they usually say "yes"!!!
This photo was taken from quite a way off and I cropped it in to just Afro Moses in the shot.

@winnedreamer I'm looking forward to this years festival too. I guess we won't be at the exhibition on that Saturday. I think we will need a note for the teacher!!!

@steampowered Thanks Paul. He was such a colourful subject.

@tillycarter Thanks Krista. I enjoy looking for interesting people to take a photo of too.

@angelar Thanks Angela. Just need a new neck!!! Just causing a few problems at the moment. The down side of getting older!!! The last resort is fusion, but I will avoid that. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Moses is a character isn't he. How does he lie down with that hair? I bet he has neck problems!!!
August 30th, 2013
@alia_801 Thanks. His hair is brilliant isn't it.
August 30th, 2013
@onewing Thanks - I have always been a bit embarrassed to ask people. I may just have to jump in with both feet.

Awesome! Fabulous color, great composition! I can just feel the music through your capture!
My husband has had a neck fusion surgery. He was sorry he waited so long to have the surgery. I can only imagine your discomfort from the severity of pain my husband described. I know it takes a great deal of fortitude. Sending kind thoughts!!!

What a colourful character. You Do so well with people. We have just unburied an old wheel barrow complete with plant in out garden this afternoon. The more we dig and cut back the more we find. It's looking pretty good already

Fabulous candid Babs, I love what he has done with his hair.

@gypsy6 Thanks Deb. I will email you my wheelbarrow and you email yours. Your garden will be brilliant when it's finished. Looked like Sleeping Beauty's garden when I saw it!!!

@sunraye Thanks Raye. Thanks for the kind thoughts. Will have to see how the neck goes. I feel for your husband.

@elaine55 Thanks Elaine. His hair is amazing isn't it. It must take ages to get it like that. Bet he sleeps with a hair net on ha ha!!!

@onewing Glad it's not something more sinister though that sounds painful enough!
