Tocal Agricultural College Field Day by onewing

Tocal Agricultural College Field Day

Today we have been on a photo club outing to Tocal Agricultural College for their annual Field Day.

It started off pretty chilly this morning, but as the day wore on it got warmer and the sun shone. We have had a very long and fun day.

This is a collage of some of the things we saw at Tocal.

I am so tired tonight that I am going to bed early so will catch up on your photos tomorrow.

Today's black and white photo

Lovely collage, Babs. Sound like a fun day. Love the sheep hear ding demo. I recall seeing a demo at our agricultural fair and it was amazing. The dogs are so well trained.

Lovely collage! What is the story about the different colored chickens? Are they really those different colors or processing? Very interesting.

@kathiecb Thanks kathie. The dogs were brilliant. The chap who did the demo told everyone how he trained his dogs and he had a few there who were at different stages of their training.

@happypat I am sure you would have enjoyed it. Apart from the animals there was farm equipment, stalls and no end of entertainment. http://www.tocalfielddays.com/wp-content/uploads/TFD-Visitor-Map.pdf http://www.tocalfielddays.com/wp-content/uploads/2014-Program.pdf

@april16 The chickens were in an enclosure with other animals and birds for the kids. They were painted with food dye I believe, which will wash off in the rain.

@terryliv You learn something new each day on 365 don't you. Tocal is about 1 hour from where we live and is in the Hunter Valley.

@nanm @quietpurplehaze Yes they are real chickens. They were in an enclosure with piglets, donkeys, alpaca's and baby chickens etc designed for the children. The chickens were dyed with food colouring I believe and will wash off in the rain.
