This is the closest I will be getting to snow. Well hopefully anyway. I love looking at snow, but unfortunately, it is incredibly cold stuff and I have had enough of cold for this lifetime.
It is still rather cool for this time of year in my part of the world and only about 24 degrees C here today, but it has just started raining today and the humidity has gone through the roof. This is supposed to be summer.
I saw this snowman in the front garden of a neighbours house and thought they looked so sweet together.
I would like to see a white Christmas one year Babs but I love our Aussie Christmas - I must admit nowadays I am not partial to the snowy Christmas stuff I see around
It's a quaint thing to have on show in Australia, but hey we have Granny's pudding recipe going back generations ready for the big day. I'm sure it has come down from our beginnings in UK in the 1800's, so .....the pondering could go on forever
A very sweet pair.......I think Alex is missing the sun a little whereas I didn't like the hot Christmas. Must be something you get accustomed to over the years! Would be nicer here if the weather was a little more Christmassy!
Lovely Capture Babs well spotted, spend Christmas and New year in Sydney in 2000 fantastic time but what amazed Jenny and myself was all the fake snow on the windows and the fact Christmas dinner was cold and out doors;)
@888rachel Thanks Rachel. I have done lots of white Christmases coming from the UK. The white Christmas is lovely, but the roads are treacherous. Hope you get to see a white Christmas one day. In the meantime have a lovely Christmas here.
@derekvickers Thanks Derek. Not as warm as usual here this Christmas, it is only about 24 c here at the moment. Pretty humid too as we have had summer storms too. Have a lovely Christmas.
@paulaw Thanks Paula, we have had lots of thunder storms, but very little rain with them, which is a bit of a worry as the lightning causes bush fires.
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. We always have a barbeque at Christmas outside of course. Only ever had one traditional Christmas dinner 25 years ago when we first came to Australia. Christmas day that year was 40 degrees and I thought never again. ha ha. Stuck with a barbie ever since. This year we are having a Greek Christmas, chicken kebabs, lamb kofta, haloumi and dolmades plus salad of course.
@kathiecb Thanks Kathie, reminds me of the poem we used to say as kids.
I built myself a snowman
As perfect as can be
I thought I'd keep him as a pet
And let him sleep with me
I made him some pyjamas
And a pillow for his head
But then last night he ran away
But first he wet the bed.
Such sweet couple !! obviously head over heals in love OR having had a glass or two glasses too many before weaving their way home --Have a grand Christmas Babs !
