Waiting for the fireworks by onewing

Waiting for the fireworks

The beginning of 2015 and I am starting the year with a photo I took last night while were waiting for the fireworks in Nelson Bay.

I usually take photos of the fireworks on New Years eve, but this year I decided to just watch them instead, as I never seem to see the whole show except through the lens of the camera. They were spectacular and we spent a very pleasant warm evening along with friends and thousands of other people on the beach.

Happy New Year to everyone and I hope 2015 is a wonderful year for you all.

Happy snapping everyone.

This year I will be continuing my second album of photos with a theme topic and this month's topic is Street Art. I think Annie @annied and Kane @karlow75 will enjoy this month as they both take exceptional street art photos.

today's topic photo - street art is here

While it's fun to look through the camera, sometimes living in the moment should win. :) Beautiful.

Brilliant evening image Babs, love the light reflections and composition with just the right amount of detail showing through;)

@pixiemac Thanks Sarah, yes the fireworks were brilliant. Of course, Nelson Bay isn't quite up to Sydney's standards, but we get to sit on the beach on a warm evening with friends around us and who could ask for more than that.

@onewing Sounds like my kind of heaven!

Beautiful capture, you were smart to give yourself the moment to just enjoy. I find myself sometimes feeling like I missed an event because I spent it behind the camera.
January 1st, 2015
It looks lovely as it is. I'm afraid that we just went to bed early to avoid the fireworks and Auld Lang Syne

Lovely evening shot. It's good sometimes to enjoy the moment rather than view it through the lens. Happy New Year, Babs.

Lovely shot Babs. Thank you for all your comments in 2015 and I wish you a very happy 2015

We are tantalising close to being able to see the Geelong fireworks, but not quite!! Not prepared to mix it with the seething masses at the waterfront, so the TV has to do.

Lovely colour to the sky and reflections. Sort of a pre game show. Great start to the New Year.
January 2nd, 2015
It looks so peaceful
January 2nd, 2015
@creampuff We don't have Auld Lang Syne here thank God.
January 2nd, 2015
@golftragic Thanks Marnie. This is the spot where we watched the fireworks from and it was just the right spot, in between the wharf and the beach. Not too crowded at all. Was a bit slow getting out of town again though because a couple of ambulances went by. I think there must have been an accident along the line somewhere. Great evening though. Plus good friends to spend the time with too. Can't as for more than that.

@ceilidh @pixiemac @_catherine_ @kwiksilver @paulavdmerwe @macromover @kathiecb @bkbinthecity Thanks everyone. We had a great evening and it was lovely to just watch the fireworks instead of trying to photograph them.
