We have been at a our regular wine tasting and barbeque this afternoon at a friends house and only just got home.
Yesterday I posted a photo of Newcastle with Fort Scratchley in the distance. If you look closely at that photo you will see one of the guns off in the distance, so I thought today I would post this photo of one of the guns at the fort being fired.
I didn't take this photo, it is one of David's shots and I thought it would be nice to include one of his photos in my project again.
I have posted a couple of photos of his in the past and the timing on this one is perfect.
If I remember rightly this photo was taken last year for the Queen's Birthday Celebration at Fort Scratchley.
This is one of the two guns that were fired during the performance of the 1812 overture when we went to the Music of the Guns a few weeks ago.
Great shot!!! full of drama, colour, and interest, looks like your timing is spot on Babs, possible should have been a Cannon not Nikon used for this shot, lol:)
@onewing Sorry Babs I read all your narrative and still got it wrong senior moment, but its a great image, with his burst rate it works out that his success rate was only 1%, you would have done much better, lol:)
Look at that - David gets PP and TP right off the bat! Wonderful capture. And it brings back memories of when I "played canon" in college when we did the annual 1812 Overture performance.
@stray_shooter Thanks Ron, He was gobsmacked that his picture appeared on the TP and the PP. I said he would be famous one day.
These are the guns that were fired at our Music of the Guns evening at Fort Scratchley. Both guns were fired several times and unfortunately the wind was blowing in our direction. We came home smelling of gunpowder, but it was a great evening.
