There's Always One

After taking the photo yesterday at Boat Harbour of our wild weather, we drove over to Birubi Beach to see what the ocean looked like there.

As you can see there is always one brave or foolhardy soul who will venture out into the surf.

I took this photo from the roof of the surf life saving club and I only just managed to stay upright because it was so windy.

This was taken handheld with my camera resting on the railings of the flat roof area.

I was very impressed watching this kite surfer and amazed that he managed to stay upright for so long.

Haven't had much chance to catch up today with 365 because I have had a rather domesticated day - three loads of washing done and dried and I have cleaned the oven and the hob. I will need a lie down now.

They are crazy! Great photo though:)

Amazing photo opportunity, and great shot. I just shudder to think of the danger not only to him, but rescue workers had he come to grief

June 7th, 2016

I heard about the bad weather on the East Coast of Australia, has it calmed down now? Fabulous pop of colour here Babs.
June 7th, 2016
Love how the shape of the kite's tips are mirrored in the surf

Great action shot
June 7th, 2016
That looks rough! Great shot!
June 7th, 2016
How amazing to take this superb shot 'hand held' - well done you to get both kite and surfer in the shot.
June 7th, 2016
Super capture!
June 7th, 2016
You did well to capture the surfer & his kite. Usually they are too far apart. Well done.
June 7th, 2016
Great shot, I love the spray from the tops of the waves
June 7th, 2016
Wow looks like a rough day on the water, nicely captured Babs!
I think he is crazy to be out in that weather!
June 8th, 2016
Nice surf.
June 8th, 2016
@onlyme111 Thanks Gaylene, yes we are quite safe. It didn't hit us as bad this time around. Last year was pretty bad though. Hope you are okay in Tasmania.
June 8th, 2016
@365projectorgjenfurj Definitely crazy.
June 8th, 2016
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel. Fancy us making the UK news. We fared much better this time. Last year the east coast low really hit our area and we lost power for 4 days. This time not even a flicker, just really strong winds and bucket loads of rain.

@ethelperry I agree Ethel. I don't think his brain was in gear this day.
June 8th, 2016
@hermann I'd call him foolhardy too. The weather was wild.
June 8th, 2016
@gilbertwood Apologies for pinching your title, but it worked so well here too.
June 8th, 2016
@cherrymartina Thanks Martina. I love living by the ocean.
June 8th, 2016
@pusspup Yes, I saw surfers on the news. They never think of the consequences do they.
June 8th, 2016
WOW~ So awesome Babs. Great shot. Thank you so very much for the kind and thoughtful words. Appreciate your friendship and always your inspiration!

@seattlite @bkbinthecity @merrelyn @taffy @mittens @jackie8 @helenm2016 @carolmw @ladymagpie @beryl @alinz @novab @ziggy77 @dawnee @karens54 @maskerade @nanderson @paulmann @shirleybankfarm @radiogirl @susiangelgirl Thanks everyone. I think he must have been mad, the weather was wild. Yes he was the only one out there. I am amazed that his kite stayed in one piece it must be pretty tough. I would definitely call him foolhardy he obviously didn't think of what could have happened.
The storm has passed now and the weather is beautiful today. Lovely blue skies and sunshine. The good thing about winter in Australia is that it isn't winter every day.
June 8th, 2016
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. How good that we made the news in the UK. This east coast low didn't hit us as bad as the one last year. We had terrible damage during that one and no power for 4 days. Other people seemed to cop it more than us this time.

June 8th, 2016
Great shot, I bet these guys love the wild weather.
June 8th, 2016
Wonderful capture of the spray off the waves and great subject FAV!

June 8th, 2016
your timing is spot on, great capture of the waves. The yellow kite really pops too. Given the searches that have been going on for people missing from rocks fishing or at the beach during this weather, I would say 'stupid'
June 9th, 2016
Great action shot!
June 10th, 2016
@adayinmallacoota I agree, we have had two deaths by drowning in our area recently and the conditions this day were really bad.
