After taking the photo yesterday at Boat Harbour of our wild weather, we drove over to Birubi Beach to see what the ocean looked like there.
As you can see there is always one brave or foolhardy soul who will venture out into the surf.
I took this photo from the roof of the surf life saving club and I only just managed to stay upright because it was so windy.
This was taken handheld with my camera resting on the railings of the flat roof area.
I was very impressed watching this kite surfer and amazed that he managed to stay upright for so long.
Haven't had much chance to catch up today with 365 because I have had a rather domesticated day - three loads of washing done and dried and I have cleaned the oven and the hob. I will need a lie down now.
Wonderful capture full of drama and movement Babs, lovely the light and composition, seen on our news the terrible weather you are getting along the East coast hope your safe and dry:)
@onlyme111 Thanks Gaylene, yes we are quite safe. It didn't hit us as bad this time around. Last year was pretty bad though. Hope you are okay in Tasmania.
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel. Fancy us making the UK news. We fared much better this time. Last year the east coast low really hit our area and we lost power for 4 days. This time not even a flicker, just really strong winds and bucket loads of rain.
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. How good that we made the news in the UK. This east coast low didn't hit us as bad as the one last year. We had terrible damage during that one and no power for 4 days. Other people seemed to cop it more than us this time.
your timing is spot on, great capture of the waves. The yellow kite really pops too. Given the searches that have been going on for people missing from rocks fishing or at the beach during this weather, I would say 'stupid'
I think he is crazy to be out in that weather!
The storm has passed now and the weather is beautiful today. Lovely blue skies and sunshine. The good thing about winter in Australia is that it isn't winter every day.
