Braids by onewing

Braids

We went for a wander along the foreshore in Nelson Bay this afternoon and I saw this girl checking out the stalls at the Sacred Tree Market. I just loved her braided hair and thought she would be ideal for my Friday people photo.
Lovely. It must have taken ages to do and I guess that colour goes with everything!

What a delightful portrait of this beautiful lady ! I also love her braided hair , a gorgeous colour so startling against her denim jacket and the colour of her skin . If you hadn't told us , I imagine her singing in this shot , perhaps in a Gospel choir !! a BIG FAV ,Babs .

Such lovely hair. I'd like that in purple. The only problem could be the same as a young lady we met in the pub who had a similar hairstyle. She hadn't washed it for about 3 months & said it was starting to itch.....

So pretty! Nicely spotted Babs. I wonder how long she can keep it like that before pulling it all out.

Wonderful find & capture, Babs, I believe it takes hours to braid..

Nice capture Babs, don't often see ladies with blue braids like that.
November 25th, 2016
Superb candid capture with lovely detail and colour Babs just how long would that take to plait and colour so much easier to by a chap:)
November 25th, 2016
Always wonder how long they leave their hair like this. Always looks tidy & im thinking it's a few hours of work there! The plaits looks very neat, you would think after sleeping on them for a few nights they would look frizzy but they never seem to.

Great shot of the Lady. She sure will be notice.

@chimfa @happysnaps @pcoulson @golftragic I took a photo a few months ago of another girl with braids http://365project.org/onewing/365/2016-06-24
and she told me that it took four hours to braid her hair. I suppose this girl would have experienced something similar and of course you have the colour too.
November 26th, 2016
@beryl She could well be in a gospel choir Beryl.
November 26th, 2016
@quietpurplehaze Oh yuk. not washing your hair for three months would be dreadful. I am sure that she would be able to wash it even with braids.

@happypat I took a photo a few months ago of a girl with braids like this and she told me that it took four hours to braid her hair.
I don't know how long this girl had her hair like this, but I suppose she could wear a hairnet at night to keep it in place. Can you still get hairnets these days?
November 26th, 2016
@onewing I think you could, there must be something that keeps the braids so tight & smooth. Four hours is a long, long time!
November 26th, 2016
Blimey.

Fabulous hair, great colour
November 27th, 2016
My youngest wants her hair that colour. Santa may be bringing some Aqua hair chalk to go in her Santa sack.

Great portrait shot Babs. I love the way that despite all the decoration and distraction, her facial features still stand out and catch attention.

I have a friend whose adopted daughter wears her halo like this from time to time. I confirm that ’getting it done' is a 4hour investment of time, although in Chloe's case, not a moment is resented. Another fact to recognise is that hair types from differing racial groups do not necessarily
'behave' in the same way.

She looks like Whoopi Goldberg. Great shot.

That's a wow, well spotted and taken
