Hello by onewing

Hello

This youngster Little Corella was making a terrible noise in the tree. I don't think he was getting enough attention from his parents.

Although he looks quite large, he was very unsteady on his feet and wings. His Mum and Dad were totally ignoring him, so when I decided to take a photo of him he quietened down and posed for me quite nicely.
He's clocked you though Babs

Great focus! Incredible eyes!

Nothing like this in our climate. VML the pools of blue encircling his eyes.

It's great that the camera caught his attention- it's perfect that he's staring right at the camera. The birds in your hemisphere are so different from ours!

I think you have an adopted baby!
December 14th, 2016
Oh blooming heck a family of corellas in your back-yard? They'll chew everything to bits. Great shot though.

Great POV and stare! Gosh -- you are really dealing with awful heat. Too bad we can't meet in the middle for both having comfortable temps.
December 14th, 2016
He is a bit too cute
December 14th, 2016
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann. We have quite a lot of varieties of cockatoos and these are very noisy and pretty destructive to trees etc too, as are all cockatoos, but you have to love them.

@golftragic Luckily they were just passing through Marnie. They congregate in the trees along the waterfront in the evening and the noise is incredible. I think our resident kookaburras and currawongs told them who was boss.

@taffy Thanks Taffy, yes it has been pretty hot the last couple of days. The mercury reached 37 degrees c today. A cool change on the way I believe though.
