@maggiemae Know what you mean. David wandered off while we were on this train to take some photos and we couldn't find him for ages. We were next to the guards van and I did wonder if he had been bumped off and put in there, or maybe gone overboard so to speak. I said to the friends who were with us. Murder on the Branxton Express.
I do love proper wooden carriages. Something blissfully Hercule Poirot about them, as you were thinking above too! The sliding doors are such fun and having a separate compartment to the corridor is just so lovely. I wish we still made trains this way!
This brought back memories: I used to travel to school and back on a train like this! (And we had carriage feasts at the end of every term, sitting up on the luggage racks!)
Lovely capture! This shot kind of brings back memories... it reminds me of the first class carriages on the old British Rail trains- they used to be separated off like that.. not that we ever sat in them. I don't remember them in wood though... it was metal in my day. Shame really, the wood looks lovely. Oh and I would be off wandering around like David to take shots too... :)
@stephanies It brought back memories of childhood for me. I wandered off too on this train to take photos, but David wandered further. I think he was looking for a free open window to take videos of the train.
