After our rather dramatic day last Monday, things were beginning to look up and then yesterday David bent down to put some spanners away and buggered his back again. He has spondylolisthesis and his vertebrae dislocates. He is crippled at the moment and has been reduced to sleeping on the floor of the lounge room on a mattress because he can't get in and out of bed. I think I will have to trade him in for a later model.
I am rather limited on time at present to catch up with 365 and I have tried today to check out some of your photos. I apologise if I am unable to keep in touch as much as I would like at the moment though.
Next week will be a rather busy week as we both have lots of doctor and hospital appointments. I am sick to death of hospitals.
Because I am having trouble getting out with my camera, I will be posting photos taken on a trip to Paterson a few weeks ago.
Our first stop at Paterson was to the Paterson Rail Motor Museum and here you can see one of the engines they restore and hire out.
As it says above it is a 400 Class New South Wales Government Railways Rail Motor, known locally as the Red Rattler. It has been lovingly restored by a very enthusiastic group of volunteers.
take care of yourself and David - hope the week of hospitals and doctors appointments isn't too onerous.
what a lovely restoration - they do rattle don't they?
It's wonderful that there are dedicated people to restore these lovely old trains and to keep them running. You and David have certainly had a rough trot. I hope things improve soon :)
Lovely train!
But oh oh oh, so sorry to hear about the back issues, I truly sympathise, you know I struggle at times myself. Hope all the medical stuff this week sees answers, peace of mind and an improvement in everything that is happening for you both. Sending you my very very best wishes for the week ahead.
What a beautifully restored carriage Babs its a lovely capture, sounds like you and David are in need of a little restoration yourselves, may have to look on your hospital visits as restoration appointments, lol:)
So sorry Babs, do hope you & David start feeling better soon. The back sounds awful, pain is so wearying! Never mind commenting, you have enough in your hands, one thing at once & the health of you both comes first. Take care Babs.
Goodness. You are going through the mill. When we spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals, we encountered a thing which we called hospital brain. Its a kind of state of mind which numbs the brain and stops it from being able to think or do or act in any productive way. I do hope you turn a corner soon on all the visits and ailments. The train is looking splendid.
Blimey Teddy Babs, he's a disaster area poor boy. Love the old rail motor, keep promising myself a trip to Newport to see what's there. Hope all improves at your place and pdq at that. Thinking of you both.

Hope the recovery will get soon, great and compltely. Take good care of yourselfs.
I have decided that trading David in isn't such a good idea after all. Don't think I would get much for him at the moment.
