A quick turnaround this afternoon because we have been out for a light lunch in Newcastle and then to the matinee performance of Peep Show at the theatre. Just home for a quick cuppa and then out for dinner this evening.
As I said earlier, over the next few days I will be posting photos taken on our U3A outing on Thursday.
One of the places we visited was Tahlee House and here is a collage taken at the house.
Tahlee House was originally built of sandstock brick in 1826 for Robert Dawson, the first manager of the Australian Agriculture Company and home to the first four commissioners of the A.A. Co. The house was destroyed by fire in 1860. The Hon. R.H.D. White, a Sydney stockbroker, purchased Tahlee in 1880 and built this residence on the remains of old, utilising the remaining walls.
The property is now a Christian college and the headquarters of Tahlee Ministries Inc.
What a great house and glad it is being put to good use still. I hate seeing beautiful places go to waste.
Peep Show??? Sounds like a burlesque or "what the butler saw!" Hope you had a fun night
@casablanca Thanks, we had a great day, the play was really interesting. The set was marvellous, set up so we could peep into four apartments and view their 'antics'
Lovely collage and great to have all the information about the place as well.
I alway find the history or background really interesting.
Thanks for the follow too :)
