This morning David and I went to the market in Nelson Bay and then walked to a lovely café at the wharf that make the best bacon and egg rolls. On our way along the waterfront we passed this couple doing a spot of fishing.
Not bad weather for winter is it and a lovely day for fishing too. I think they have everything. The chap has a beer in one hand, you can see a small barbeque to the left of him, all set to barbeque the fish he is hoping to catch.
It must be very relaxing waiting for the fish to bite when the sun is shining.
Although we are enjoying the warm winter weather, it isn't so good for the farmers. Almost all of New South Wales is in drought at the moment. It has been a very warm winter and although we had a fair amount of rain during June, we haven't had any rain since then. Not a good sign as Spring is close by. More risk of bushfires earlier than normal is always scary.
Great composition..... looks so relaxing
The weather seems to have gone completely out of kilter all over the world this year .... we in south east Uk are still experiencing excessive heat & no rain !
@dizzyd
Same with us in France. We were in officially in 'drought' for months and then had a Mother & Father of a storm in July with much damage. All cleared up etc...followed by more drought with no sign of rain.
the picture tells a great story too... sad about the farmers and the droughts ... when we are practically floating here in Launceston atm... pity we can't send some of the water over!
I was just going to say looks like they have all they need - and then I read your comment. Fishing is quite alien to Ray who likes his active pastimes and just cannot 'get' what folk see in fishing. A lovely scene!
Looks more like summer! Great that your winter is so mild in one way but very worrying in others. Still very hot here but it's supposed to cool down this week.
Your winter weather sounds just like our summer weather here even down to the rainfall & drought! Cooler weather coming from Wednesday so perhaps normal summer will resume from then just in time for my little break in Ireland! I could get to like this sort of fishing!
@kjarn No idea what the rake is for. Maybe they were expecting to find more seaweed or sea grass on the beach and thought they had to rake it out of the way.

Yes, the drought is so bad. I'm carrying buckets of water to plants to help them survive.
It has gone rather dull today and has tried to rain, but only a couple of drops and then it was over. Not sounding hopeful for a good downpour.
Ditto - we walk on the beach.
@haskar It is winter time here in Australia. It just happens that we have had a very warm winter this year.
@pamdavis2015 Thanks Pam.
