Moreton Bay Fig Roots by onewing

Moreton Bay Fig Roots

This is the last of my 'seeing-to' black and white photos for now, hope you have enjoyed them.

I just love the roots of Moreton Bay Fig roots, they look like long fingers stretching out through the earth.

Loved this series. The trees gets such interesting texture and angles.

I have not heard of Moreton Bay Figs. I remember Moreton Bay Bugs! I nearly fainted when hubby ordered some in Sydney for dinner! Not my kind of food at all - allergic to shellfish - but the name has stuck with me forever. What fabulous roots. Reminds of the Triffids.

There are a whole row of these trees around a park in Newcastle and at night as the cars go by with their headlights on look really creepy, like Dementors from Harry Potter movies.
This tree is indeed very old, probably over 100 years.

@dide Kids love playing on these trees too.

Fabulous.

Wow, such an amazing root system

@onewing I know what you mean by how creepy they look with the lights on them. There is a row of them at Sawtell up the main street and at night the lanterns hanging around them give them a very eerie glow; quite spooky.

Effective with this treatment
