As you know I don't very often post photos of flowers, but I had to post this lovely poppy because we don't see them where I live. In the Southern Highlands where my friend Jo lives though it is much cooler and the poppies thrive in the climate there.
Today's photo of the beginning of our trip is here
I am slowly wading my way through the photos taken while we were away, but today has been another busy day so far. I went to yoga class this morning and then out for our regular girlie lunch.
I'm not a flowers poster either Babs but have to fave this. Love that full frame & the symmetry is incredible. Every little detail is a master piece of nature!
@girlie How do you know it is an opium poppy? It was in a garden in Berrima and I checked to see how to identify them, but didn't get a suitable conclusion.
@onewing I have had them growing myself when I lived in Armidale and quite a few of my neighbours have them also; they are all aware of what they are. Here's a link: https://www.britannica.com/plant/opium-poppy You need an awful lot of them to produce anything harmful, much more than the average garden holds. But somebody did show me once how to harvest the substance.
