Another Mystery Flower

This flower was in the same area as yesterday's mystery flower.
I am sure Julia will be able to identify it.

When I was taking this photo a chap walked passed and said 'Hello' I asked him if he knew what this flower was called and he said 'How about Gladys' ha ha.
@julzmaioro Here you go Julia, any ideas on this one please. I think it looks like an alien.

January 20th, 2019
I have seen these around, they are awesome flowers, but I can't remember the name.
January 20th, 2019
@julzmaioro ha ha, that is hilarious maybe the chap I met knew your Mum. He probably knew she would know the name of it.
January 20th, 2019

Ismene Littoralis | Hymenocallis Littoralis | Peruvian Daffodils
Hymenocallis Littoralis is an evergreen variety, with spectacular blooms whose dramatically elongated petals are reflexed behind the prominent cup. Sweetly scented, the blooms are gracefully reminiscent of a Salvador Dali painting, and very long lasting. Native to Mexico, this beauty is hard to find, but such a pleasure to grow! Happy in containers or the garden bed, hymenocallis are drought tolerant, but prefer even moisture. Highly attractive to butterflies, but unlikely to be nibbled by deer or rabbits.

I thought it looked like a spider when I first saw it but didn’t suggest it because I thought it was silly and what do you know, it’s a spider lily!
January 20th, 2019
This seems to be very similar to a wild flower in Malta. I don't know the name though.
January 20th, 2019
I thought it was a spider Lilly too. There’s one growing in the hot house in Hamilton gardens

Gorgeous and most unusual. A Peruvian Daffodils, how cool.
January 20th, 2019
Great shot of very interesting looking flowers. I'm not familiar with them, either.
January 20th, 2019
Glad you found the name but I think I like Gladys for short.

January 20th, 2019
Beautiful flowers and shot.
January 20th, 2019
Isn’t 365 wonderful....there always seems to be someone we can ask. It does look very like an alien I agree, I wouldn’t think she was a Gladys, perhaps a Priscilla! Beautiful flower though, very exclusive!
January 20th, 2019
I love your little story. It is a most unusual flower. Peruvian daffodils sounds very sophisticated.
January 20th, 2019
Trust you to find someone who called it Gladys! I have no idea what it is but I love it.
January 20th, 2019
I have no idea what it is, but it looks a lot like a Petunia that sprouted tentacles! Beautiful flower no matter what.
January 20th, 2019
Great shot of those beautiful flowers.
January 20th, 2019
The bridge = 5022 mtr./ 16476.37795 feet long.

@kjarn @nicolecampbell @pusspup @777margo @jodies @kwind @kjarn @sangwann @yorkshirekiwi @ludwigsdiana @pcoulson @tonygig @jacqbb @happysnaps @angelar @paul10 @louannwarren @henrir @taffy @mittens @lesip @craftymeg @mandygravil @haskar @helenhall @olivetreeann @pyrrhula @julienne1 @radiogirl @loweygrace I find out all sorts of things on 365. I didn't know that flowers could have so many different common names. This one is either a Peruvial Daffodil or a Spider Lily. I think I prefer spider lily because it does look rather like a gorgeous spider.

@brennieb I had to laugh when he suggested Gladys too.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Wendy Whitefower sounds very elegant.

@beryl @casablanca @inthecloud5 @carole_sandford @samae @joysabin It may be known as a Peruvian Daffodil or a Spider Lily, but it will always be Gladys for me too.

@happypat 365 is so good isn't it, I always find out so much on here.
Priscilla is a good name too, reminds me of Priscilla queen of the desert, I could just see her on top of a bus in the outback with flowing scarves trailing behind her.

@chimfa You know me Jane, they always find me. I must have that kind of face that attracts the odd ones, ha ha. I now know that it is also called a Peruvian daffodil and a spider lily but it will always be Gladys for me now.

@julienne1 @radiogirl @loweygrace It is very strange isn't it, but so beautiful too.

@pyrrhula Thanks for letting me know the length of the bridge, it is incredible.
January 21st, 2019
I'm leaving it to Julia too, Babs. But I like the photo with all those spidery bits going every which way but loose.
January 21st, 2019
The common name we use here is Spider Lily, I also have it in my garden. Another nice find.
January 22nd, 2019
