Our last stop in Canberra before returning home was to The Arboretum.
I loved the children's climbing frame in the shape of two acorns.
The ceiling at the Visitors Centre was spectacular too and I will post a couple more photos of the ceiling over the next two days.
Another busy day today. Medical appointment this morning and blood tests show everything is going in the right direction and after a B12 injection in one arm and an iron injection in the other I should be feeling more lively again soon.
We were at a U3A event this afternoon too so I am looking forward to a quiet evening because it is still pretty hot here.
Great collage. Those acorns look like two animated characters from a children's book play fighting. Glad things are moving in the right direction with your health.
Wonderful acorn play area....a real work of art I think! The inside of the visitor centre looks wonderful! Glad your tests are looking good, you need all the iron & help you get to keep up with your hectic lifestyle!
@beryl Thanks Beryl, the acorns are quite safe they are anchored down by thick steel girders @gigiflower This area has definitely changed it used to be pine forest until the 2003 bushfire and the arboretum has been created after that devastation. We were in Canberra not long after the 2003 fire and it was so sad to see. The firestorm was so fierce the trees were just flattened on the ground
@cruiser Thanks Chris, it is a lovely place to visit and a joy to see the trees growing again in this area after the bushfire.
@casablanca Thanks. I went up the Telstra Tower too and I have quite a tale to tell about that day but daren't tell it on here, ha ha. Every time I see the tower it makes me smile. Just goes to show you can't take me anywhere I cause a disturbance wherever I go.
What a creative play spot for the children! The whole arboretum sounds like a great place to visit. Looks great too. Glad your health is on the up-swing!
@happysnaps It is an interesting place to visit.
