Looking Up

While we were in Newcastle on Monday I had a quick look around the inside of the recently completed new University Campus on Hunter Street.

I saw it last month and took photos of the outside, but it was closed at the weekend and I was unable to go inside that day.

Here is the outside of the new campus.

It is very modern and light inside, a lovely place for students.
At least that you don't need to climb it.

It looks a much more functional design from inside as you would expect, lovely lead in, depth of field and detail Babs:)

Oh very posh-looking Babs, hope it survives the students.

Great leading lines in your shot. Today's youngsters have everything in their favour nowadays.

These places look pretty much the same the world over, don't they? A nice shot with the lines leading upwards.

Until I read your commentary I thought it was a shopping mall! I like the way they've divided the ceiling color- it's cool! I can imagine this place is quite popular with the students.

@yaorenliu @pcoulson @golftragic @sangwann @peadar @beryl @mittens @flowerfairyann @craftymeg @jgpittenger @carolmw @happypat @seattlite @kwiksilver @carole_sandford @pyrrhula @olivetreeann It is a well set out building. The class areas are very light and airy and there are lots of individual study places too. This is just at the entrance. I didn't look around the whole of the building because it is on 8 floors.
Here is a floor plan of the building if you are interested.

@angelar This is just the entrance, the university is on 8 floors and most students were in classes or sitting at the individual study areas.

Impressive looking building.

Nice looking space. My kids used to love going up and down escalators when they were little. We didn't have any in town so it was a big deal when we went to the "big" city.

A great sense of scale with the double escalators.

@kwind Escalators are great fun for kids aren't they.

@taffy It is a lovely space for the students, so light and airy too.

@robz It is a very well organised building, I got lost a few times wandering around. There are 8 floors. Luckily there are plenty of stairs, escalators and lifts.
