Another busy day today. We were out for breakfast today with a group of friends and this afternoon I took Elizabeth to the cinema. I have just taken her back to Regis and I need a cup of tea now before I start getting dinner ready.
@dide Thanks Dianne. Elizabeth always forgets that we are going out when I go to collect her, but she jumps up the minute I arrive and is all set to go even though she doesn't remember where we are off too. She enjoyed her afternoon out and the movie. Probably forgets where she has been once she is back in the care home, but at least she is there in the moment and enjoying herself.
@golftragic The building in the reflection is very much alive and kicking as well as being reflected in the glass of this totally boring high rise. The old building reflected was once the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney and it now houses the Newcastle City Business Centre offices.
@olivetreeann Some of the old is still standing in Newcastle, but I suspect more would disappear if the developers have their way.
Oh crikey, I completely 'misread' this photo Babs. Sorry to be so dumb. Great to know that the old building is alive and well. Commercial Banking Company of Sydney? I remember it well, my family used to bank with them.
Still like the buildings and you capture,
@gosia @sugarmuser @beryl @brennieb @jeneurell @pcoulson @sangwann @gilbertwood @kjarn @louannwarren @pusspup @kwind @lynnz @mittens @tonygig @carolmw @radiogirl @happypat @samae @pyrrhula @helenhall Thanks. There are so many new high rise buildings appearing in Newcastle these days that the old buildings are disappearing fast, but at least you get a double dose of old Newcastle in this picture and they are still defiant against the new glass structures. The old and the new in one image.
