Wharf Reflections by onewing

Wharf Reflections

After yesterday's City Reflections we are now back at the wharf in Newcastle and you can see the wharf and the old signal box reflected in the windows of this building. Because of the angle of the windows you can see the signal box twice.

Although the railway line has now been removed, the signal box still stands proudly in the centre of Newcastle waterfront.
It looks very clean and well lit - nice to see it as it is and not crowded! Can't work out why we see the signal building twice but its well defined here!

@maggiemae If you think of a 3 way dressing table mirror you will see why you can see two signal boxes. If you angle the outside mirrors on a 3 way mirror you will see yourself in not only the centre mirror but the other two as well The same principle applies here. The windows aren't completely flat and if you look closely you will see they are angled and that is why you can see the signal box twice and also the building in the second from the right panel can also be seen partly in the left window too.

My what clear reflections! So people no longer take the train? Do they take buses?

Near perfect reflections. Nice.

@Thanks Lou Ann. It is a very controversial issue. They removed the rail line from Wickham to Newcastle station, a distance of 3 km and replaced it with a light rail at a cost of $600 million. If you look closely you can see the light rail tracks across this picture.

Off to Newcastle again, light lunch, then theatre this afternoon and out for dinner this evening.
I hadn't realized just how neat and tidy Newcastle is. I have to admit it always looks tidy in the centre of the city. In fact it is very tidy where we live too, they must spend a lot of money keeping it pristine.

Great capture, reflections

I like the reflection you've captured here- the sunshine and clean sidewalks make it very appealing! But it does make you wonder why one track was taken out and another put in when it doesn't seem like there was anything wrong with the older one.

Love these reflections. As for councils (or whatever) they certainly move in mysterious ways.
