Cooling Tower by onewing

Cooling Tower

This is a cooling tower for the electricity generator which powered John Brown’s Richmond Vale Colliery. Now in a state of disrepair and rust setting in, but I think it still looks beautiful with the reflection on the water.

Love the reflections and lily pads as much as the cooling tower itself. It looks excellent upside down too! ( no it didn't reach me the wrong way, I swizzled myself round )

The site was open to the public and we could see all the buildings behind this one. A guide told us all about the history so interesting. I had to take this shot through a fence though as it would have been a bit dangerous for children with the water.
