I went on the World Wide Photo Walk on Sat evening. I would love to hear your stories if you participated. This was my first time and I was a little disappointed. It seemed to be less structured than I expected. Maybe that's just the way they are.We barely had a meeting spot and then we all did our own thing. I do that every time I go out with my camera! Oh well, found a great sunset! I love how you can see the mist come off the waves and the individual stories from each silhouette!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Now back to the grind! :)
The way this caught the crests of the waves in light is just stunning. And the silhouettes of people are really cool! At first I thought they were parts of the structure :-) No walks in my area, at least not photo ones. I did a 5k charity walk though and took pics.LOL
I went on a photo walk too and I'm totally with you. I was hoping for a little bit more structure and a bit more meeting and getting to know people (which is kind of why i did it in the first place!). Everyone just went off in their own directions and I ended up being on my own (as usual when I'm prowling around with my camera!!) At least you got a great shot!!!! beautiful!
@pennymilner So weird! Like I said, I can walk around with my camera any time and go where I want. I thought maybe it was just my leader. I was hoping to meet some fun photogs too!
fav without hesitation, Jerry. OCD kicked in when I reassembled my condo, so I cleaned all weekend. your sunset is what I'm enjoying at the end of all my hard work, thank you.
This is breathtaking Jerry!! Ours was yesterday morning... we basically got rained out and I forgot to put my battery back in my camera from the charger lol... so no photos for me! :o(
@pennymilner I just read the descriptions of the 3 in PDX and they all had meetups at the end, and one looked fairly structured as they were doing specific business locations. I'm wondering if I tried to put one together in my area next year if anyone would sign up. Hmmmm.......
@orangecrush i was a bit too nervous with the unstable weather... don't want my gear ruined...the rain date was today but the rest that showed up , soldiered on in the rain.
Looking at the site, every walk has a bar for registered walkers to sign in and upload their favorite pic also. As I didn't register for a walk, I don't know if that leads to a place where you can chat and share with people from your walk or not.
Everything about this story telling concept is remarkable, and it goes SO well with your story, busy photographers alone together!
And the colors are so toasty and warm for Halloween time!
Lovely shot Jerry. We had a little group of 7, and 4 of us are already in a local photography group. We got rain half way through, but other than that it was a nice afternoon. Later that eveing 3 from the group plus one other went and photographed trhe fireworks. Here is one of my shots from the walk. http://365project.org/onie/my-favorites
Great sunset! I was down in Sydney so I went on a photowalk there. Was in a group of 4, we kind of kept in touch with each other as we went along, and then had a beer together at an awesome German beer place so it was a good time.
I love the feel if this with so much happening and yet it's a peaceful calm shot. Really nice... It's hard when your expectations are not met though, it's where disappointment finds you and asks to hang out awhile!
Gorgest sunset, i love the light on the water!)
Never did a phtotowalk with someone else, but if i do, i expect smth like you describe, everyone shoots as if "alone". What exactly structure did you expect?
When I read about it I was hoping there was one in our local area, but there was not, and I did not have the time to organize one. Your photo is beautiful
Sorry to hear the Walk was disappointing, but you captured an amazing scene regardless! Love how you captured the sun under the pier! Fav :-D
I was considering doing the next one, but may rethink it now.
Beautiful Sunset. I think the walks are probably as different as the areas and people involved. Ours was structured. We had a definite mapped out route and then a meet and chimp lunch spot at the end. But I did notice there wasn't much talk and meet going on. You should organize one next year. Or don't wait, organize a 365 meet up sooner.
This is gorgeous! I'm sorry that you were disappointed. I'm going on my first Google+ photowalk next weekend. It sounds fairly well organized. I'll let you know how it went. My daughter went on one in Berlin and still raves about it! Guess it all depends on who organizes it.
Beautiful shot - love the layers and the light just catching on the edges of the waves.
Sorry to hear your experience was disappointing - I think I would have been hoping for something more structured and sociable too.
Stunning! The sunset is just breathtaking and so making me miss the beach LOL. Love the composition, the colours and that mist is just perfection. Beautifully captured.
i swear the longer i looked at this the brighter the sun got! haha!! maybe im still tipsy from the weekend? LOL. either way, it looks stunning! love it!
And the colors are so toasty and warm for Halloween time!
YOUR BIRTHDAY IS COMING UP!
YEHA!
