Just another drop! by orangecrush

Just another drop!

I found this old nasty water valve and thought the texture would make a great macro for the ons3 challenge. I noticed it had a leak and the droplets kept getting my attention! So I had to shoot the whole thing! It was taken with my macro lens, does that count? ;o)

I want to thank everyone that participated in the One Night Stand challenge! It makes it so much fun when there are so many of us suffering together! :o) Looking forward to part 4!
Awesome macro. Its amazing how an everyday object can look so different.

How wonderful! Makes such a terrific photo. Fav
January 14th, 2013
That is great! And it kind of looks like a donkey! LOL Or a ......water horse?
January 14th, 2013
It absolutely counts, especially since you had to get close enough to it to get the cobwebs
January 14th, 2013
Very nice. Love that you captured the whole thing, great texture and nastiness.
January 14th, 2013
Jerry this is wonderful and thanks so much for creating the ONS, it certainly was good :)
January 14th, 2013
I did the same thing for my photo today. I was going to take a water drop pic, but the bokeh from the other drops in the background was too pretty to pass up so I had to shoot wider. I did an alternate shot because I thought I was cheating! (As if we would be punished, right?) I totally love this! The depth of field, composition and texture of the gnarly faucet are nice!
January 14th, 2013
Sorry, brevity is not one of my finer points. :)
January 14th, 2013
Neat find! =)Thank you for this challenge, btw!
January 14th, 2013
Amazing textures and I love the creamy bokeh background!
January 14th, 2013

January 14th, 2013
It looks like a dinosaur with his arms folded ... and a drop of water hanging from his foot. ... and that's what I see BEFORE wine ... :) Cool shot!
January 14th, 2013
I think its brilliant
January 14th, 2013
Really nice. Something we so often neglect to see turned into something we can't stop looking at. My favorite types of photos!
January 14th, 2013
Jerry.....Only you could make a weather beaten old tap look this good! Fav : )
January 14th, 2013
Fine, Jerry. The close focus and the fade to the background.. A classic Macro shot.

great textures indeed! my 100mm macro virtually lives on my camera for 2 reasons, 1, thats how best my lenses stack into my bag is by having my 100mm on camera and 2, its my favourite lens by far :)

January 14th, 2013
Outstanding DOF and old rust facet :) Awesome job
January 14th, 2013
I need to get here more quickly so I can actually look at your photo WHILE I'm typing in my comment instead of scrolling my screen up and down eighteen times. LOL. Wonderful capture, Jerry. The details are fabulous. It's amazing the things I used to find "ugly" or "mundane" can be so fascinating now, like rust, graffiti, etc. The nice clean drop of water in this shot offers such a stark contrast to everything else, including the cobwebs. Love it!! Fave, for sure. :)
January 14th, 2013
I love the textures!! Great shot!
January 14th, 2013
Now that thing looks ancient! I love the colours around it. Thanks so much for the fun challenge and I'm glad it brought some of the old timers out of the woodwork. I just hope some of them stick around now.

@shuttermonster Thanks, Evan! I really appreciate it!

Brilliant photo - emotive even. "Signs of life" - like the drop of water is the faint heartbeat of a tap assumed to be dead. Love it.
