Split lighting by overalvandaan

Split lighting

Maybe not as strong a split as examples I've seen on internet, but still clearly a split. Using the sunlight through the window in quite a dark room.

For the 52 week challenge. This week's theme:Technical: Portrait Lighting
Whether Butterfly, Rembrandt, Split, or Loop Lighting, choose the technique which best flatters your subject.

I used this as reference:

i realised it doesnt have to be high contrast to be a useful lighting technique, it gives the face 3 dimensionality, this is a lovely portrait.

you could also try it with something to reflect some light onto the dark side of the face
