Just got back from working as a volunteer for www.cafeart.org.uk. Today was the day that started their photo competition with the homeless. The idea being to help these people express themselves through art. In this case photography. They have 5 days to take 27 pictures of London and enter them on a competition. The winning twelve shots are made into a calendar which is sold to sustain the charity and reward the photographers. The photos will be on display in Spitalfields later this year where the public will choosing the entries for the calendar. I had the pleasure of speaking to a winner from last year his tag is ROL, if anyone knows him wish him extra luck.
Have a look at cafe art and keep your eye out for the show in Spitalfields. The results these guys get from a film throw away is brilliant.
Great shot, and what a great way to volunteer. However, I'm curious - do these people have resources for photography? Presumably they do, or is it provided for them in some way?
What a completely brilliant way of motivating someone......they must be quite excited about it all. The throw away cameras are perfect for that situation....Great idea to the organiser & person who thought of the idea. I like your capture if this guy reading all about it!
What a great shot and such a fabulous idea. I have had a look at last years winning photographs and they are smashing quality when you consider they were done on throw away cameras.
As everyone has said..such a wonderful way to extend a hand. Would LOVE to see some of the images.Very impressive. This is a wonderful shot so well composed. Nicely done!
