Let sleeping Dogs lie, in this case Tigers

Whipsnade and the tigers were not very active today. This is the male and I wasn't going to disturb him!!! Sorry still playing with the new lens but seem to be getting there.
Just brilliant. Fav.

Sorry. New follower. What lens are you using? Stunning shot here. Had a look at your flamingo shot. Great humor! Got me interested, and now, I will follow. :)

@adambralston using a new Tamron 150-600mm zoom. Really good as you can see and the cost is very reasonable for the lens.

@padlock Is that the VC? I read a great review comparing to the Sigma and the Canon 100-400 IS, and they were pretty darn near equivalent. http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2014/01/tamron-150-600-telezoom-shootout

OH, also ... was this tripod or handheld? Thank you so much for your answers. I'll eventually get a longer zoom, and love to shoot a lot of wildlife. I realize with this lens you are going to need a lot of light, but frankly can't think of a a time when I don't.

@adambralston hand held and it is the new Tamron just out. Hard to get hold of at the moment but really pleased with mine. Did consider the canon 500mm but couldn't justify the cost versus the Tamron.

Based on that article, sounds like you made the best choice. I'm definitely curious to see what you do with this lens! Might have to get one myself just for the distance. Maybe I will rent one...
July 10th, 2014
@adambralston Adam, still working on finding the sweet spot but very happy with it. Problem to rent one doesn't seem that many around but worth a try.
