Not sure of this is sweet corn or not but there are two massive fields of it. Looking online it says it is ready when the silk on the cob turns brown. Looks good to me
One of my two favorite things...corn fresh from the field cooked right away.! Sweet and delicious. THe other is a nice tomatoe fresh and warm from the garden..sliced with a little sprinkling of pepper!! You are making me hungry. Great shot!
I think it was the mix of wet and sunny weather we had this year that made it grow so well. Peter went to pick some on Sunday and he found 6 big cobs completely eaten by the birds or maybe the pheasants, Little b'''''''s
...and you can see the silk has gone brown! Another thing you can do is gently peek into the corn interior to see what colour the corn is - pale yellow - not ripe, golden yellow - too ripe!
