Under discussion!!

If the planners have their way this field will make way for approx. 170 new houses in the village, part of the scheme to bring over 300 new homes to the area. I do realise we are an island and not everyone wants change but I do wonder how the infrastructure will cope. The wait for an appointment at the local doctors will go on for ever, the local school is already full with a waiting list and the roads are not big. Oh well that is progress.
Beautiful landscape

I empathise ! our beautiful "green" fields on the edge of our rural town which sites magnificent old oak trees and ponds supporting wild life belonging to the local gentry !! has been successfully earmarked for the development of 350 new homes in spite of all our protesting and as you point out the roads are over used as it is ! , the schools , GP's , Hospital also will find it hard to cope !! Why do we need more houses while the local newspaper is shock- a- block with houses for sale each and every weekend ! It seems to be happening all over the place Paddock -- we will soon be without "the green and pleasant land "!! -- sorry , I will now get off my soap box Yours is also a beautiful landscape !

Oh don't start on that subject padlock...it's a mine field but the vast majority of people agree .....look how Nigel is doing!
Lovely peaceful part of our island.
We can protest all we like @beryl but no one takes any notice at all! It's a farce!

Overdevelopment without proper infrastructure is the pits. Such a wonderful landscape and space.

Love the three similar, but different trees and the clouds in the sky! It breaks my heart when there are plans to develop on beautiful land, especially since its not healthy for the ecosystem. There was a housing development built across from my school on a wetland. It provided homes, which is important, but we need wetlands :P

With you there Padlock ,I could point out that our local hospital has closed and scaled down to a drop in unit so how does it make sense to build so many homes on green belt. Got me ranting ,Nice view for today !!

such a shame that all this area will disappear.........we have become so used to it in Milton Keynes......however in fairness here, I believe it was all earmarked many many years ago and MK owns all the farms and lets the farmers work the land until they pass away, then the housing estate goes up.

This looks like a lovely place to walk so it will be such a shame when it's covered with little boxes that they call houses these days. I totally agree with you and fortunately in the village where I live, the chap that keeps putting in for planning permission keeps being turned down. I suppose it's only a matter of time though! Lovely shot

Its good to have this photograph because, when its gone, its gone. The sad thing is , its happening all around us and our landscape is changing far too quickly.
