Water Vole, over and out!! by padlock

Water Vole, over and out!!

All I will say that this shot was taken in February whilst in Norfolk, that is the only clue I will give to its whereabouts. Decided that I will give 365 a rest as no matter how hard you try I never seem to get the perfect shot. The story in this shot for those who may think it is easy to capture, three days of watching a riverbank. Then it was a 3am arrival to get in and hidden before day break. The shot was taken at 1.00pm(yes 10hours) approx, after which my mate and I had to be taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia.
I have enjoyed the site but do think it is time to move on, I have been here for three years not a shot everyday and met some great people. I have seen some great shots make top 20 but some have amazed me in getting there.
It is never easy to get a great shot but if you do get one easily really appreciate it, there may be a price to pay.
Good luck but goodbye to you all.
The Unlocked Padlock.
Great image - it's been fun following you photos. All the best.

@Padlock I don't know what to say. This is a fantastic image of a water vole, superbly captured under what sounds like a terrible time for you and your mate.

Thanks for the London meet ups you organised, they were fun. Will really miss you on 365and all your fantastic kingfisher shots. :( You inspired me to walk riverbanks xxx

What a great image to finish on! We will miss you but I can understand your reasons. Good luck and have fun with whatever direction your photography takes you.

@pixiemac Sarah, good luck and be happy. Have to say from what I have seen you are getting some great shots, do carry on. Can't understand why someone didn't arrange any more meets? Never mind be good and keep taking the shots.

This is a top shot Clive and it sounds like it was really hard to capture ! I admire your dedication and perseverance in getting a shot! You are an inspiration to those of us who also love wildlife photography but are unable to physically get out there like you do ! I have loved following you and have especially loved your kingfisher shots! This water vole capture is a Top Twenty shot in my eyes! Good luck and enjoy your photography because that's what is important ! Fav of course!

An incredible capture, very well done. I am so sorry to hear it is goodbye, you will be sorely missed and a very big thank you for arranging the London trips, they were great fun and I shall always think of you with that glass of beer in the pub at Camden Market. I've only just caught up with your last photo and sympathise, sadly, with your decision to leave. This is a superb image, and your patience was amply rewarded, although not by hypothermia. I was absent for all of 2015, bar about four/five photos and know how it feels to have lost heart. I wish you all the very best for the future and maybe you will be back, somehow, in the future.

Hi Padlock, sympathise with your feelings. Sorry you decided to leave but I totally get it. I haven't been on for ages due to pressures of life really but mostly work. Good luck with whatever you are doing and thank you for the London meets you organised I really enjoyed them.
